      Hi Oisin,

I heard it was fun. A colleague of mine did it before (I think he won!), and he said it was a cool experience. I like talking to young people and its fun to talk about science/tech etc. On a more serious note its also really important that young people get exposed to this stuff. Over the coming years we will really need you – the world is changing so fast and Ireland needs to lead this change. Look at the mess the country is in now – whether we like it or not my generation, your generation and the ones after it have the responsibility of fixing it. And even if you don’t become engineers, people need to be clued into the work engineers do and how it affects peoples lives.

I love my job and I want more students to study Engineering. In my company we have to hire a lot of people from other countries because there are not enough people qualified in Ireland. Theres also very few girls who study engineering courses and I wanted to show students that its a really good job for girls too!

I want to encourage students to get into engineering. It is always good to give students the opportunity to get to know more about something they might consider for their future.

It is not too long ago that I had to decide what I wanted to do with my future. I found it very difficult and the only way to make a good decision is by talking to people who know what it is like really.
